About

I grew up in the Niskayuna, N.Y. area and attended Niskayuna High School where I realized my love for creating art.  I attended the College of Saint Rose, Albany N.Y. where I majored in Art Education and graduated with concentrations in painting, silkscreen and drawing.  For 34 years, I taught K-6 art, first in the Coxsackie-Athens School District and the last 25 years in the City School District of Albany.

The experience I gained from teaching in urban and suburban/rural districts showed me firsthand the inspirational power of art education and reinforced how important Art is in a person’s development.  During this time, I continued to create my own work and, as a result, I had many finished and framed pieces.  Each stage reflected what I was interested in at the time but I feel my personal style and vision remained constant.

After I retired, I concentrated more on my passion for making art in my home studio and marketing it. I always hoped to find venues where I could display my various paintings.  My primary medium is watercolor gouache and I draw inspiration from nature and everyday objects that I depict in a style that is all my own.  Most recently, I have been experimenting with different media including permanent markers, paint and various ink pens.

In my view, Art is a way to communicate so thank you for the opportunity to do so with you!
